(Johnson)NEW MUSEUM F CNTEMPRARY ART: ‘DUBLE ALBUM: DANIEL GUZMAN AND STEVE SHEARER’ through July 6. This intermittently interesting two-part exhibition presents two midcareer artists who work in various mediums and share a fascination with male adolescence and classic rock. Daniel Guzman’s recent large-scale drawings combining mythic tribal images and weirdly distorted fragmented human figures are elegantly surrealistic and his video of a Pied Piper-like character leading three other men in a dance along a crowded city sidewalk is delightful. Steve Shearer’s best works are finely made drawings and woozy Symbolist-style paintings of men and boys with long rocker-style hair. 235 Bowery at Prince Street Lower East Side (212) 219-1222 newmuseum.

We’ll be at the Loft tonight for a night of guitar driven blues some classic rock (maybe) and God only know what. I’m sure I’ll throw in the Jimi Hendrix tribute (I get asked for it all the time) and maybe a few of my own tunes as well. It’s bound to be a hoot! Hope to see y’all there!Tim.
