The book’s forward is by John Mellencamp; the afterword was written by Kid Rock. Seems they missed the best title for the book though — namely “Turn The Page. ” The book won’t be available until ctober 15th via its publisher Wayne State University Press.

This realization ushered in the era of corporate rock a time ofincreased ambition and greed on the part of radio stations recordcompanies concert promoters and ultimately artists themselves. But that doesn't mean the music of Woodstock wasn't extraordinary. Anew DVD and Blu-ray edition of director Michael Wadleigh's movie"Woodstock" released today celebrates famous performances from JimiHendrix the Who and Janis Joplin but also includes concert footagefrom two great classic rock bands Creedence Clearwater Revival and theGrateful Dead that didn't appear in the original version of the filmfor various contractual or technical reasons. Creedence plays three songs including "Born on the Bayou" and "Keep onChooglin'" while the Dead is represented by its nearly 40-minuterendition of the Bobby Bland hit "Turn on Your Love Light. " Thesemoments haven't been edited into the "Woodstock" movie itself — nowtitled "Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music The Director's Cut" — butare featured in the "extras" disc that is part of the new 40thanniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition DVD.

That included 1500 in the 26. 2-mile marathon and 5900 in the half-marathon and 5-kilometer races. The Crescent City Classic 10K road race by comparison had 19500 entrants. The marathon’s volunteer staff limited the number of entrants said Aaron Boudreaux president of the track club. Now the biggest limit will streets wide enough to accommodate at least 20000 runners. That probably will mean an end to the leg along Bourbon Street. San Antonio’s first Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon last year brought 30000 runners; registration for Seattle’s first scheduled June 27 hit the 25000 cap.
