today at the park’s Center for Environmental Education 3820 Wildlife Drive ? a mile up the ld Mount Lemmon Road in racle. Go early and take a picnic if you wish park rangers suggest. You’ll hear Woodstock-era music by the classic rock cover band Five Way Street ? tunes made popular by entertainers such as Crosby Stills & Nash Grateful Dead Steely Dan and the Beatles. It’s a two-hour concert with a 20-minute intermission after the first hour. Refreshments and snacks will be available; donations accepted to benefit the gardens. Tickets are $10 including the park entrance fee. Because this is a fundraiser discounted tickets and passes will not be honored.

Eight bands have been booked seven of which were announced at a press conference Thursday morning. 8 date also has a national act booked — Ried said it’s a “big one” — but the contract’s conditions won’t allow Gateway Harbor Inc. to announce the name for another couple of weeks. That kind of snag is what complicated the booking of Joan Jett last year and eventually ended with the show’s cancellation so this year’s promoters are looking to avoid the same pitfall.
