All you need is the Beatles? Maybe not.
Los Angeles Times
Poptimists (myself included) don't hate the Beatles — how could anyone who loves a great radio-friendly dance hit reject "Drive My Car" or "Helter Skelter" for that matter? But that narrative of a band's music becoming more meaningful as it becomes less obviously catchy and commercial has done a lot of damage. It has caused some taste makers to favor album-oriented rock which favors earphones and contemplation over equally sophisticated but more socially friendly musical forms like disco and funk. It's also led to an emphasis on the mostly white mostly male artists of the classic rock era over the often black and female stars of pop before and after that counter-cultural moment.

Green Day Brings Classic Rock Feel To US Airways Show
Phoenix New Times
Green Day certainly delighted the near capacity Phoenix crowd but the bloated six-man version of the Berkeley band we saw for much of the two-plus hour concert struck me as oddly similar to what you’ll see at a Lynyrd Skynyrd show these days where a lone original member playing rhythm guitar is the only thing standing between the “genuine” article and a tribute band with intellectual property rights. Not that Green Day’s show was bad. I can’t say for sure that Green Day are the only truly great DIY scene punk act to successfully transform themselves into respected classic rockers though they’ve got to be on a short list. But to say the band we saw — setting off enough pyrotechnics to shame Ted Nugent shooting a spirit squad style t-shirt launcher and making at least 30 pandering mentions to “Phoenix Arizona” — bears any resemblance to the one that played. Green Day is now Poison if Poison had more than four good songs.

The square root of a good cover band
Examiner.com
Some bars may classify Square 1 as classic rock aficionados which may be true however they don’t stick to just the classic rock genre. While Square 1 has no problem belting out the classics by Lynard Skynard The Rolling Stones Tom Petty Van Halen and The Doors they like mixing it up with the likes of Pink Alanis Morrisette and they even do a version of “My wn Worst Enemy” by Lit. How’s that for diversity? Squre 1 is: Sandi Stasko (lead singer) John Graebling (lead guitar vocals) Divya DeGarde (keys guitar vocals) Jim Hirsbrunner (bass vocals) and Scott Cavallaro (drums vocals). h and in cse you were wondering if cover bands support other cover bands of course they do. Sqare 1 are big fans of Steel Jewel and the Rough Sineater – original band and Who brought Larry a fort collins cover band are just a few examples of sharing Colorado Music love.
